Case Study

Charter Hall Hardware Asset Management

The organisation struggled to accurately manage End User Device (EUD) information and sought an automated asset management system.

We leveraged ServiceNow's Service Graph Connector for Microsoft Intune, conducted a CMDB Health Check, and configured Hardware Asset Management (HAM) to streamline tracking and lifecycle management of EUD assets.

Scope

The implementation of Service Graph Connector for Microsoft Intune involved a comprehensive integration process where all necessary systems were interconnected.

This integration ensured seamless data flow and synchronization between Microsoft Intune and other critical IT management platforms, enhancing overall operational efficiency and user experience. Additionally, a CMDB Health Check was conducted to assess the current state and accuracy of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records.

This involved validating data integrity, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to improve data quality and reliability across the IT environment. Furthermore, Hardware Asset Management (HAM) was configured specifically for End-User Device (EUD) assets. This involved setting up automated workflows and policies to track and manage hardware assets throughout their lifecycle—from procurement and deployment to maintenance and retirement.

These efforts aimed to optimize asset utilization, minimize risks associated with hardware incidents, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

business problem

  • The organisation faced challenges including scattered asset data, difficulty in accurately managing End User Device (EUD) information, and a lack of automation in asset lifecycle management.

  • These issues stemmed from managing assets separately, resulting in fragmented data and inefficient processes. Overcoming these hurdles required a comprehensive solution to unify asset data, improve accuracy, and introduce automation for streamlined operations.

VALUE DELIVERED

  • The implementation of ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of managing End User Device (EUD) information.

  • Streamlined the asset lifecycle management process, providing enhanced visibility and control over assets, contracts, and audits.

  • Better tracking and maintenance of assets from procurement to retirement, ensuring that all asset data was up-to-date and accurate.

  • More effective contract management, enabling timely renewals and compliance with audit requirements.

Reduced costs through optimized asset utilization and minimized risks associated with non-compliance and asset mismanagement.
